Ethernet for extreme cold conditions

The ship travel route between Europe and Asia through the Arctic ocean increases. Because of the low temperatures during the shipping period, the cables have to withstand extreme cold weather conditions.

FELTEN Wire & Cable Solutions delivers ethernet cables developed by BizLink with a temperature behaviour down to –65°C. These cables can be installed in all types of ships e.g. in ice breakers, container vessels, tankers or expedition cruise liners. The cables are suitable for installation inside and outside the vessels. The cables have a SHF1 outer jacket according to the standard IEC 60092-360 and is suitable for standard data transmission as well as for PoE-application up to PoE++. SHF2 jacket material (acc. to IEC 60092-360) or mud resistant material (acc. to NEK 606 for offshore applications) are also possible.

All these Ethernet cables are approved by the classification society DNV with the categories 6, 6A and 7.
