The cables guarantee a reliable power supply within the vehicle. They are used as a connection cable between batteries, inverter and electric motors. The power inverter makes sure that the incoming power and the voltage required for the electric motor is the same.
The cables are available in both (EMI) shielded (for AC application) and unshielded versions (for DC application). The high voltage EV cables are used in a wide range of vehicles, such as trucks, buses, but also in forklift trucks, aerial work platforms, AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and other electric vehicles. The cable’s operating temperature is 180 °C, because of the silicone sheathing material. It can be used for applications up to 600V AC and 1,000V DC. Due to the high temperature range, the cable can be subjected to a higher electrical load. Allowing that a smaller core section can be used than other cables in the same voltage class. This results in lower costs, greater flexibility and saves space. The materials used, meet the high requirements that are placed on vehicles with alternative drive systems in terms of electrical, mechanical, thermal and chemical properties. This includes ISO 6722 and ISO 14572. Due to the high quality of the materials used, the cable is not only very flexible, but also UV-resistant and halogen-free.
