
Cables for naval shipbuilding
FELTEN Wire & Cable Solutions BV is, among other things, specialised in the demands of naval shipbuilding with our NavalLine® products. For example, in addition to providing indoor cables for all naval vessels, we also provide transversally and longitudinally waterproof cables for outboard applications on submarines.
Our range of products for naval shipbuilding includes neutral buoyancy, floating, trailing and underwater cables or tow cables with either steel or aramid strain relief elements as well as coiled cables. These cables can handle loads up to several tons.
These cables contain the following characteristics:
- Seawater resistance
- Operating lifetime of 20.000 hours
- Transversal and/or longitudinal water blocking up to a pressure of 63 bar
With the edition of the new German military standard VG 95218 part 29 the cables must also:
- Be fire resistant
- Have a toxicity index lower than 5
- Be non-corrosive in case of fire
- Have a low smoke density in case of fire
- Be highly oil-resistant
We also offer a broad assortment of cables for use on land-based applications like military vehicles or military safety systems including building installations.
